Robotics team celebrates successes at State Championships

The Glenholme 1337 robotics team had a very successful inaugural season with strong showings at both the Massachusetts and Connecticut FTC Championships.

On Saturday, February 28 the team ranked 6th out of 27 teams at the Massachusetts FTC Championship. In addition, the team, including Anthony D, Sam G, Creighton H, Spencer S, Jake T, PJ V and Jon W, won the "Connect Award" for their education and outreach about Robotics. The students had a great time, meeting up to strategize with teams from around the world as well and organizing and planning events throughout the day.

The team shone once again on Saturday, March 7 at the Connecticut State FTC Championship in West Hartford, Conn, rankin 6th out of 20 teams and receiving the Innovate Award for the unique and elegant design for their robot. Although the team ultimately did not qualify for the national tournament during the elimination rounds, the students displayed winning spirit and skill in managing stress, social networking and team-building, as well as building and programming the robot.
