Handal and Golden event benefits Glenholme's Center for the Arts

On Friday, October 16, Kenneth Handal and Mary Francina Golden hosted a special fundraising event to benefit The Glenholme School’s Center for the Arts Campaign. Over twenty Glenholme families, friends, and staff from the tri-state area gathered to enjoy an enchanting evening filled with fabulous foods, cocktails and breathtaking performances.

The evening’s highlight featured Toby Appel, a world renowned violinist and professor at The Juilliard School, who is also a Glenholme parent. Appel was accompanied by three of his students from Juilliard for a private concert featuring music composed by Felix Mendelssohn, Maurice Ravel and George Gershwin. The evening’s program was a sought after auction item at the school last year, where a bidding frenzy ultimately ended in the hands of a long-time supporter of the school, Kenneth and Mary Francina. They generously transformed this into another benefit for Glenholme’s Center for The Arts.

Before the evening concluded, The Center for the Arts Campaign received over $5,000 in new contributions. Along with fundraising, the evening provided an inviting setting for parents, particularly those of recently enrolled students, to get to know one another. Many parents expressed their gratitude toward The Glenholme School for their exceptional program offerings and events that support the school and benefit the students. As Handal eloquently expressed, "We love Glenholme, and we think the faculty and staff are wonderful partners in education our children. Glenholme has made a tremendous difference in our family’s life."
