Students of Glenholme Enjoyed A Night Under The Stars

The seniors of The Glenholme School and their guests enjoyed a “Night Under the Stars” at the 2012 prom. The clicking of camera captured the sharp-dressed gentlemen as they greeted the ladies, dressed in glamorous gowns, at the pre-prom reception in the Glenholme Music Room. The lovely function was a heart-warming occasion as families relished the incredible moment as these young adults embarked on the fundamental step into the social world of adulthood. Afterwards, twenty-two prom-goers were whisked off to their awaiting reception hall in a stretch limousine.

The Saturday June 16th event, which included a beautifully catered meal and hours of music, dancing and merriment, was hosted at The Washington Club. The climax of the evening arrived just before midnight; it was the announcement of the royal court and with that Michael and Masha were officially crowned Prom King and Prom Queen.

The social event of the Glenholme calendar proved to be an extraordinary success. Social opportunities such as Prom are vital to the social and emotional development of students with special needs. They help create a positive, supportive environment where friendships and school spirit are strengthened. Prom is a pinnacle event for the seniors of Glenholme, marking their final social occasion in the safe, nurturing surroundings of the school.
